LG GW990Never released, the biggest and most obvious feature of the LG GW990 would have been its remarkable 4.8 inch touchscreen, with a resolution of 1020x480 pixels. The GW990 has sufficient processing and memory umph to juggle several applications simultaneously. ItĘs built around Intel's Moorestown chip - said to consume significantly less power than other smartphones - incorporating an Intel Atom 45 nm processor and running Intel's Moblin Linux OS.
In addition, the GW990 maintains the upward momentum of what is now considered normal in a smartphone: a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus and the ability to record HD video, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and 16GB of on-board memory, plus a microSD card slot. Include 3D gaming and GPS, and the GW990's controversial chunk will surely not be a problem when it becomes widely available.
No doubt an accurate picture of its capabilities will emerge when the GW990 sees the light of commercial day later in the year. But for now, we watch this particular space with interest. |
